Court Yard Hounds

Martie Maguire and Emily Robison have collectivally gone solo, if you can do that as a duet, from Natalie Maines to create something that is absolutely not the Dixie Chicks. The beauty of this record is that there are no country pop hits anywhere. "Gracefully" paints out the dismal realities of asking to let go of a relationship that doesen't work. And that's in the middle of the album. Followed up buy "April's Love" where they harmonize on the retrospective aspect of leaving bad love "you didn't take a stand, you didn't hold my hand. you should have held it tight." Hence we all forget that Martie and Emile were a duet before fame, fortune and controversary with Toby Keith over shadowed what was a monumental first album with the addition of Natilie to become the Dixie Chicks. The Court Yard Hounds will never win a CMA but I believe that their true rewards would be if someone would  hold them in the same regard as Norah Jones, Susan Vega and Lucinda Williams. Catch them on the upcoming Lilith Fair Tour.
